What does it mean for you ‘women supporting women’? (copia)

The 8th of March is a day to acknowledge women’s achievements in the world, for promoting awareness & change towards women’s rights, gender equality, and against SGBV.

Needless to say, just one day is not enough. Nor just one week, or just one month. But it is an occasion to raise and amplify voices.
So, for the occasion, we asked the community volunteers in our Women’s Safe Space a simple question:

What does it mean for you ‘women supporting women’?

These were their answers:

When women support each other incredible things happen! One woman can make a difference but together we can rock the world 🌎

In my opinion, women do not necessarily need the male to support, but women themselves can be each other's greatest support. I think because a woman knows her gender better, she can be another woman's best supporter. And all women must work to raise the value of women in society 🙂

Women think together and act together. Tighten the bonds between women.

I think if women support each other, for sure we can create an amazing life for the world. You are a lady and also I'm a lady. Imagine I'm in a horrible situation, in a difficult situation... The first person that can feel and understand me is a woman. And also women can understand me more than every man. Why? Because generally, and on our road, we are ladies... and also we have the same road, same situation... not exactly the same situation in our life, but the situation in our creating. We are different in our location of life, in our behaviour in life, in quality of life but we are the same generally in our creation, and we are the same in our road. If we help each other, I'm sure we can create an unlimited world, and also a world with unlimited power and energy. And I'm sure we don't need any man: just with this reason that every woman helps and supports another woman.

About women supporting women :
It means power💪⚡
I always say a woman alone has more power, but the support of another woman will add to her power ⚡
And I think we live in a world where if there is no support then there will be no equality. And that I'm proud to be a woman👩
And this power of being women supporting women, and believing in all people the world to the power of the women ❤
Maybe this belief will make the world a better place to live...

‘Women supporting women’ to me means that I empathize with your experiences, that even tho we are coming from different places and our stories might be very different, we face similar challenges just by living in this world and being ourselves, that the same battles are being fought in our bodies and that to lift me up it’s imperative that I help you in your journey, so we can all rise above in a sisterhood of support.
